Children, Hope & Horses Selected as a South Florida Hunter Jumper Association
Charity Show Beneficiary

WELLINGTON, FL:  The South Florida Hunter Jumper Association’s Junior Riders Committee capped another successful year at their Annual December Charity Show, at Wellington, by recognizing Children, Hope & Horses  for the exemplary charitable help they provide the abused and neglected children of our community.  The SFHJA donation will directly support a program that provides help to every child …..free of charge.

Laura Newbery, President and founder of CH&H, said, “It is especially gratifying to be recognized and supported by an organization that has been synonymous with the dedication and excellence of the Florida equine community for so many years” .

“The backbone of our commitment is a membership, made up of mostly of local residents, that wants to give back to the community”, observed Victor Connor, SFHJA President, “we are proud to help CH&H, a charity that exemplifies the spirit of our horse community.”

Viktoria Jackson-Carinda, 2nd Vice President of the Wellington based association that has been putting on hunter jumper shows since 1959, added, “It is also important for our junior riders to know that they are giving back to CH&H, an equine organization that is helping other children in our community.”

Children, Hope & Horses, a local 501(c)(3) charity with an all-volunteer staff, harnesses the very special powers that horses bring to the myriad needs of abused, neglected and/or abandoned children.  All funds go to the CH&H program to support the 140 children of our community who have so desperately needed somewhere to turn for help.  At their stable facility at Sunshine Meadows in Delray Beach, CH&H must first teach these children how to trust. Only then can they begin to develop the self-esteem and self-confidence that are the building blocks of a productive life.  Horses are unique, with innate abilities to develop the bond on which the trust and the self-confidence are built.  “Our horses are truly, ‘saving lives’’, Newbery added.
